Ua pili anei keia 'ohune i ke komo hawele li a me ka holo wawae ma kahakai?

This was a good weekend, though a bit overshadowed. We have been back from Hawaii for a couple weeks now and it seems that I am just as buried with work as when I first came back. I have been meaning to write about our trip since we got back. But alas, I have come back to a schedule filled for the next two months. What is even more discouraging is that my vacation for May has now been postponed due to meetings that were scheduled in my absence. Funny, take vacation and then get screwed out of another one. Oh well, just means I get it later. However the past two weekends have been spent working. This weekend was beautiful and the last thing I wanted to do was to stay in the house on the laptop. So I just packed it up and sat at the coffee shop and worked. At least I could be outside and watch all the activity!

We had a great trip. We stayed on Waikiki again, but even having made this our 4th trip there together, we still love it. I've actually been to other islands, but Oahu has the best nightlife. We, or rather me (I'm the planner), had lots of things in mind to do this time, but once again, we mainly just kicked backed and hit the beach. Got to play a lot with the new camera and that was fun! Actually did some boogie boarding this time. I've never seen the waves so good on Waikiki before. It is usually so placid when we are there in February with the North shore having killer surf. This time it was the opposite, except that Waikiki wasn't quite a rough as the North shore can be. We took another drive around the island again, but this time stopped at a beach called Lanikai. It was absolutely as beautiful as they say. Powder white sand and azure water.
After a couple afternoons of hitting Hulas for Mai Tais and hitting the local karaoke bar, we met up with some guys from Seattle. They were a blast and graciously took us under their wing and let us hang with them. Turns out two of them now live in Denver and flew out to meet the group. It was cool to meet another couple from home and even met up again with them Sunday for brunch.
One of the cool things about Hulas is that you never know who you might see. The first year we were there, Carol Channing walked into the bar. This time I looked up and spied a fellow blogger I use to read all the time till the bitch took his blog down. Daigle, I would have said hello, but you and your other half were looking pretty busy! Anyway I was being hogtied and hauled off to Angels. You are a little hottie!

There is just something fun of being with a group there and just cutting loose. Last year we took some friends of ours with us for the trip and that was a hoot. This time was mellower since we still had a lot of time to ourselves, which was nice. Lately we don't get much time together with our schedules being as they are, so this week was well deserved. One of the best parts of the trip was just soaking up the rays on the beach knowing that back home was having another big winter storm. I swear I could live there. Now if I can only find a job there. Ironically K’s company will be opening a location there in the next couple years and we have actually talked about moving. I sure wish we had an office there I could transfer to. I am far too hesitant to give up all I have without having something else already lined up ahead of time.

With temps in the low 80’s, the weather was almost perfect for the trip with just a few rainstorms that passed almost as quickly as they arrived. Unlike the cold and rain that met us on our return. A couple days last week it rained non-stop. I think I heard it even set a record. Glad it didn’t get cold enough to snow. The news said that if the temp had dipped down to 27, the resulting snow would have been over 30 inches. Ugh. Sure has made things green though. Flowers are blooming and trees are starting to leaf up. I love spring. Makes being back home a little more tolerable. Once again, home crab free! Life is good!
p.s. If anyone knows the answer to the question in the title of this post is, I want to meet you!

Although meeting is not necessary, to answer your question in the title, YES, IT CAN
