Almost there

Well my bags are packed and I'm ready to go
The taxi's waiting and blowing his horn
I had to wake you up just to say goodbye...

Well, actually the bags aren't quite packed yet and we'll be driving to the airport ourselves. But the arrangements are finally done. 3 more days to go. Had the hotel for a few weeks now, but then our airfare fell through today. Ugh. Spent last night and today trying to find a good deal. I think I hit every travel site on the internet trying all kinds of combinations of routing trying to come up with something that wasn't too horrible in price. I am so spoiled in having prices that I have lost all touch with reality as to what tickets cost. I even thought about cancelling my hotel then re-booking a package, but at this late date, it is cheaper to just add on the airfare and wipe out all my Amex reward points. Oh well, never used them anyway and I think they were starting to mold. Wait, that's me. I need to shower.

So now that I have broke in the new credit card, I am once again broke. That's OK. The one thing I always cherished about growing up is that even though we never had much money, Mom always made sure we travelled. I have been very lucky. I have been to every continent but Africa and Antarctica. All before 26. Great memories and I think it gave me perspective I might not otherwise have. And the most important part, things always worked out. We always had enough to eat, a place to live, and clothes on our backs. There is more to being rich than cash.

Ugh, the internet here sucks. It is always a crap shoot coming here. Oh well, I need to get my ass to the store anyway.
